Harvest started a week early

The grape harvest in our vineyards officially kicked off on 11 September, with early varieties like Müller Thurgau and Moravian Muscat the first to be picked. The harvest of Blauer Portugieser, which is used to make the year’s first red St Martin’s wine (a young wine which can be first opened and consumed on St Martin’s Day on 11 November), is scheduled for next week. The grapes are currently healthy and in good condition and the harvest has the potential to be slightly above average, but the weather in the coming few weeks can still play a role.
