When a world wine authority ranks our wines alongside the European elite
Can Czech sparkling wines compete with those from around the world? We asked James Davis, a world-renowned wine expert, Master of Wine, and member of the Decanter World Wine Awards jury. In Starý Plzenec, he tasted our sparkling wines and still wines in the company of director Ondřej Beránek, sales and marketing director Petr Černý, chief cellar master Josef Švéda, and other colleagues from the production and marketing team. His verdict? He was most impressed by the Bohemia Sekt Prestige range, which he described as sparkling wines comparable to the best “champagne style” in the world. He praised the freshness, purity, and distinctive terroir of the Moravian wines.
