Haban Cellars – Zweigeltrebe
This is a wine of Austrian origin and was bred in a cross between St. Laurent and Franconia. It was bred by Dr. Fritz Zweigelt, director of the Klosterneuburg wine school, in 1922.
The wines have a dark garnet colour with a subtle purple flash and a fruity, spicy aroma in which various berry fruits including cherries can be found. The wines have a harmonious fullness with smooth tannins. They are very fine, varietally typical and pleasant to drink.
We recommend serving them with delicately spiced meats, pheasant, partridge, steaks, pasta and fine hard cheeses
